The Awakened Way Mediterranean Odyssey Cruise Ports

AN UNFORGETTABLE JOURNEY AWAITS!

Dear Friends,

As Ty and I stepped aboard the ship to lead my first at-sea retreat in 2023, we exclaimed, "Why did we wait so long to go on a cruise?"

Add in fourteen hours of powerful workshops in such beautiful surroundings and we took the concept of a spiritual retreat to a whole new level.

When asked to lead another Awakened Way cruise in 2024, I said "Yes!" without hesitation. The destination was a "no-brainer": The Mediterranean, baby!

You see, Captain Ty and I sailed our boat across the Atlantic Ocean and through the Med in 2005 and 2006. That journey was cut short by our daughter Susan's unexpected passing. We are thrilled to return on this 10-day "Mediterranean Odyssey" to visit the idyllic places we enjoyed and to impart to you the spiritual Truths I've learned along the way.

I'd love for you to experience the luxury and learning aboard the fantastic, Oosterdam. We can't say enough good things about Holland America's attentive crew, the gourmet food, fun, and the first-class amenities. I guarantee you will feel spoiled!

The ports of call include some of my favorite places on the planet: Spain, France, Italy, Turkey, Greece, and a new destination for Ty and me: Malta! Check out the schedule below and you'll see why this itinerary jumped out at us for the bucket-list locations we'll visit.

Of course, it's a unique opportunity for all of us to vacation together, but the highlight for me will be our special group sessions. In addition to the insights you'll gain, the energy that flows through me to you and from the collective love of those gathered is palpable and transformative.

I know this cruise will be the opportunity of a lifetime on multiple levels. Let's create sacred moments and memories next September in the beautiful Mediterranean Sea!

With love and blessings,

Suzanne

DISCOVER THE MAGIC OF THE MEDITERRANEAN
THROUGH THE DIVERSE PORTS WE WILL VISIT!
Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona, Spain
A top European center for art, architecture, design and cuisine, this stylish city has its own language and culture. The soul of old Barcelona is its Gothic Quarter. If you have extra time in Barcelona, don't miss the Picasso Gallery, where several adjoining 15th-century palaces house over 2,000 pieces of his work. Stroll along Las Ramblas, a wonderfully vibrant part of the city where street vendors and performers vie for your attention. The incredible Sagrada Família church and other modernist landmarks designed by Gaudí are everywhere in the city.
Cannes, France
Cannes, France
Cannes is located on the majestic French Riviera. It is a commune located in the Alpes-Maritime region and host city of the annual Cannes Film Festival, Midem and Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The city is known for its exceptional sunny weather, beauty and its association with the rich and famous, its many luxury hotels, and superb cuisine. But long before it was a celebrity playground, Cannes was a simple fishing town. You can see vestiges of its rustic past throughout the city. Le Suquet Village oozes old world charm, topped with the 11th Century Tour du Mont Chevalier watchtower. Vieux Port is the entry to winding cobblestone streets that date back to medieval times.
Florence/Pisa (Livorno), Italy
Florence/Pisa (Livorno), Italy
The Renaissance-era port city of Livorno, Italy, gateway to Pisa, Florence and the rest of the attractions of Tuscany, is characterized by its solid 16th-century Fortezza and the charming canal network known as Venezia Nuova. Florence, an hour's drive from Livorno, was a center of medieval European trade and finance and is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance. Sights include the Duomo that represents Brunelleschi's pinnacle of achievement, Giotto's Bell Tower, Michelangelo's David, the Uffizi Gallery, and the Ponte Vecchio Bridge.
Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy
Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy
As Rome's seaport, Civitavecchia is the gateway for excursions to the "Eternal City". Here the ancient capital of the western world and the center of Christianity for nearly 2,000 years spreads out before you in all its glory. Discover some of the most famous churches, monuments, and fountains in the entire world. Visit the Coliseum and Roman Forum, the Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica, or the fashionable boutiques around the Spanish Steps. The entire city is a living museum. While in Rome, you can walk in the footsteps of emperors, have coffee in Renaissance piazzas, and see contemporary art all in one afternoon.
Messina (Sicily), Italy
Messina (Sicily), Italy
Gateway to Mt. Etna, the awe-inspiring and still-active volcano, the seaport of Messina is the third-largest city in Sicily. Known for its fine cathedral, museums, and for its rich Sicilian wines, Messina and the surrounding area was also the location for much of the Godfather series of films. An afternoon or a day in Messina can include a drive up to the windswept side of Mt. Etna or to the shop-lined streets of Taormina. Watch for Sicilian ceramics, with colorful hues painted on volcanic earthen pottery or for jewelry and crafts made from beautiful black volcanic glass, collected from the slopes of Etna.
Valletta, Malta
Valletta, Malta
Valletta is the capital of Malta and a piece of living history. With an unsurpassed collection of original Baroque architecture, fortified city walls overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, and the spectacular Co-Cathedral of St. John, this smallest of European capital cities is a world heritage site. Known for its sites related to a succession of rulers including the Romans, Moors, Knights of Saint John, French and British, it has numerous fortresses, megalithic temples and the Hypogeum of Ħal Saflieni, a subterranean complex of halls and burial chambers dating to circa 4000 B.C.
Santorini (Thira), Greece
Santorini (Thira), Greece
This island is perhaps the most breathtaking of all the Greek Islands and its beauty is legendary. There is a magic energy here with its whitewashed houses clinging to cliffs and hillsides set against the deep blue waters of the Aegean Sea. The excavations at Akrotiri have confirmed that human activity on the island continued until the eruption of the volcano around 1500 B.C. which entirely buried the island. On the site of Akrotiri you'll gain insight into Minoan life from 3,600 years ago when the town was buried under volcanic ash. There are many experts that believe that Santorini was the home of the fabled lost continent of Atlantis.
Rhodes, Greece
Rhodes, Greece
Rhodes, the largest of the Dodecanese (the name translates as "twelve islands"), draws more visitors than most other Greek islands. Its capital, Rhodes Town, offers an enduring blend of history and architecture, and the island's interior is filled with lushly forested hills. To the south, Lindos, one of the most stunning villages in all of Greece, is watched over by a picture-perfect ancient ruin on the hill above. Though many civilizations have left their mark on Rhodes, its independent spirit has endured, and the island has managed to retain its natural beauty, from the mountain heights down to gorgeous beaches and coves.
Ephesus (Kusadasi), Turkey
Ephesus (Kusadasi), Turkey
Kusadasi is your gateway to Ephesus, a city created by the Ionians in the 11th century B.C. and later expanded by the Romans. Now considered one of the grandest reconstructed sites in the ancient world, and some of the best-preserved ruins, the region also hosted the likes of Cleopatra, Mark Anthony, the Virgin Mary, and John the Apostle. Travel through the Magnesia Gate, the main entrance to the ancient city, and continue along marble streets grooved by chariot wheels. Gaze upon beautiful temples, porticoes, fountains and frescoes. Discover the three-story Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian, the Odeion, the Fountain of Trajan and the Great Theater. This port offers great opportunities for unique shopping.
Athens (Piraeus), Greece
Athens (Piraeus), Greece
Piraeus is the main port of Athens, the biggest in Greece, and one of the most important in the Mediterranean Sea. No visit to Athens would be complete without a visit to the Acropolis. There you'll find the Parthenon, the largest building in the Acropolis and one of the world's most awe-inspiring sights. It was built as a temple to Athena and is still a remarkable structure today. Visit the Plaka, the old neighborhood of Athens and discover the narrow streets and alleys, single-story houses, neoclassical villas, taverns, and many tourist shops or explore the National Archaeological Museum, home to a formidable collection of the world's antiquities.
